Last weekend we once again invited people to come help us "build" the Thanksgiving baskets for our folks. In the aftermath of Sandy, in these stressful times when we are bombarded with scenes of the disastor that has hit our wonderful Jersey Shore it would have been understandable if we didn't have as many people here to donate, to help, to make it happen. But we had more people than ever! We were able to put together over 250 Thanksgiving baskets and we still have turkey's in our freezer. Our pantry shelves are full and the folks we care for will have a great Thanksgiving. Its really not a surprise! The Center is able for twenty years to serve those most in need because of the goodness of people - the fact that people, even if they don't have a lot, want to share what they do have. St. Aloysus Church once again provided so many bags of food and turkeys, the result of their annual food drive. And now, after three weeks of a difficult aftermath of Sandy hopefully we can all sit down with family and friends and give Thanks - there is an awful lot to give thanks for. Peace Fr. Bob
