Its that wonderful season when we realize more than ever the fantastic support and love of so many people - people who care for the folks entrusted to our care at The Center in Asbury Park. The season started with the traditional abundance of Mitzvah bags that filled our pantry shelves as Monmouth Reform Temple once again thought of the needy as they observed the High Holy Days. We then continue with the outpouring of food through the Thanksgiving drives - all those great foods that make up the Thanksgiving feast. Our walk-in freezer will be stuffed with Turkeys in a few days. Its the people who out of their own bounty and their own realization of their own blessing want to make sure the those in need, those struggling will have a Thanksgiving Feast as well. And the gifts come tumbling in. We'll be able to make sure that over 400 gifts are gotten into the hands of women and men and children so that they can experience the joy of the holiday season. The various houses of worship and clubs and schools that partner with us to make this happen are amazing!
We live in a world where such tragedies happen - the awful killings in Paris and in so many other places. We feel helpless. And so we do what we can and look at one another and realize the goodness of so many. Enjoy this wonderful time of giving.
